How Buyers Compare Sex Toy Supplier Quotations

Short Answer

Compare quotations against the same exact model, version, quantity and destination. Separate base product price from branding, packaging, testing, freight and one-time costs. Record exclusions and keep product MOQ separate from customization quantities.

Two factory quotations can show the same unit price while describing different products, packaging, testing, and delivery responsibilities. For a private-label buyer, the useful comparison is not the lowest number in one column; it is the cost and approval scope of the same finished specification. This guide starts after an initial RFQ has been sent. If the brief is still incomplete, use JWELL’s OEM RFQ checklist first.

Freeze the comparison unit

Put each quote against one exact model, version, color, quantity and destination. State whether the number covers an existing product or a modified version. A different motor, controller, charging method or included accessory can change both the cost and the sample that needs approval. For example, a buyer comparing JW-S25 and JW-S27 should not call them interchangeable app products: their published identities and charging arrangements differ. Confirm each model’s specification before comparing quotes.

Separate the price layers

Ask suppliers to show what is included in the base product price, then break out logo application, non-standard color, printed box, insert, manual, sample, tooling or engineering work, testing, and freight. Ask whether a one-time setup cost is included in the unit price or invoiced separately. Record the quote currency and validity period. A low unit price with an excluded box or inspection requirement is not directly comparable to a higher all-in offer.

MOQ also belongs in separate rows. JWELL’s standard MOQ is 100 pieces with JWELL standard packaging. Its private-label, logo, color and custom-packaging policy MOQ is 500, and custom-development MOQ is 100 pieces when the buyer pays for tooling. These are different decision points, not a promise that every requested configuration is available at one quantity. The private-label MOQ guide explains how to read those layers.

Normalize packaging and delivery terms

Specify the retail pack format, printed surfaces, insert or tray, manual language, barcode area, outer-carton assumptions and any required labeling. A quote for a plain stock box should not be compared with one for a printed box and fitted insert. Likewise, note the named delivery term and destination. “Freight included” is too vague without the place, transport mode, and responsibility for destination charges. Buyers should confirm shipping terms with their logistics and import specialists rather than infer them from a product quotation.

Compare the approval and quality path

Request the sample version, artwork proof and pre-production approval steps. State which test or inspection records are expected for the exact model and destination market; availability must be verified rather than borrowed from another SKU. Ask how changes after sample approval affect price and schedule. A quote should also identify who bears the cost of a changed component or failed approval. The quality-control checklist helps buyers define these checkpoints.

Use a comparison sheet that leads to a decision

Download the supplier quote comparison template (XLSX). Enter each supplier’s exact model/version, quote currency, MOQ, separately quoted one-time and per-unit costs, delivery term, and exclusions. Blank costs stay unquoted; enter zero only when the supplier confirms a charge does not apply.

Use the results to refine a private-label sourcing brief or request product samples for the shortlisted models. The template is free to download without submitting a form.

Create one column per quote and rows for model/version, quantity, base scope, logo, color, packaging, sample, quality evidence, one-time costs, lead-time assumptions, delivery term and exclusions. Mark “not stated” instead of inventing a number. Then ask each supplier only the missing questions needed to make the rows comparable. A buyer planning both powered and non-powered assortments can use the Kegel exerciser category as a model-selection starting point: JW-S38 and JW-S52 have different product scopes, so their price cannot be normalized by quantity alone.

Before accepting a quotation

  • Confirm the exact model, approved sample, revision and package contents.
  • Check each MOQ and setup charge against its corresponding product or customization scope.
  • Put excluded testing, artwork, tooling, transport and destination costs in writing.
  • Agree how specifications, inspection criteria and delivery terms will appear on the order.

For a JWELL quotation, send the shortlisted model, quantity by variant, destination market, desired branding and package, and any missing comparison questions. Request a model-specific quotation.
